Sunrise at the MORE Holiday 200 greeted the Greene Motorsport team with blustery conditions with temperatures in the low thirties and gusting winds blowing at 30 mph+. Very challenging conditions indeed.
Greene Motorsport was participating in this race to complete the team’s final preparations for a full 2014 Best In The Desert season. The 200-mile, 7-lap Barstow course was the best place to accomplish final testing.
Driver Ryan Greene and Co-Driver Tripp Moore were at the controls of the Greene Motorsport #61 Trophy Truck. During the first two laps Ryan unfortunately lost some ground to competitors due to the loss of engine performance because of the chilly temperatures. The pit team worked hard and found a solution to raise the water temperature into proper operating range. Ryan made his way back out and was able to preserve and reduce his lap times for the balance of the race. On the 7th lap Ryan clocked his fastest lap of the day and resulted with a respectable 4th place finish overall.
Though expecting a better finish for the conclusion of 2013 season, the Greene Motorsport team can’t help to be but extremely satisfied with the performance of their Kinetik/Camburg Trophy Truck chassis and feel well prepared for the 2014 season.
